Commercial Mediator
Whittle & Co’s Director, Paul Whittle practices as a commercial mediator who specialises in the resolution of construction and engineering disputes. Paul is one of only a small number of mediators who sit on and is nominated on behalf of the RICS President. Paul is accredited by the RICS, MATA and the ADR Group and is registered as a Mediator with the Civil Mediation Council.
Paul sees that one of the main benefits of mediation is the flexibility of the process. Every mediation is different, each with different people, different issues, different needs and interests, and all at differing stages of dispute. Paul believes that the mediation process should be designed around both the matters in dispute and the parties involved, not an exercise in shoe-horning parties into a one-size-fits-all process.
Paul is a great believer in using his experience of construction disputes to fully reality test the parties. Concentrating upon flexibility, Paul works with the parties to develop a mediation plan and conflict strategy that meets the needs of all sides, and which addresses their respective and specific situations. The most important aspect of any mediation is that the process is one that gives the parties the best opportunity of coming to an agreement. In addition to providing face-to-face mediation, Paul is highly experienced in mediating remotely. To date, Paul has been appointed as lead mediator in more than 80 construction and property disputes.
Paul welcomes initial contact by email or telephone and will be pleased to discuss his practice, cases and fees. Fees are negotiable, so please contact Paul to discuss your requirements, when he will do his very best to meet your needs.
Please note while some claims have lower monetary values, they are nonetheless highly complex and require increased levels of prepartion. In such cases, increased sums will need to be discussed.
